Reports To: Artistic Director 

Join our team! The Program Assistant (PA) is a truly rewarding position for someone who loves working behind-the-scenes for a professional dance company. We’re looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver with professional communication skills and confident writing abilities to execute daily tasks in an efficient manner. While the candidate must have outstanding technical and computer skills, we are looking for a self-starter who can independently and under the direction of our Artistic Director. The candidate must be available for productions and special events. The PA will work closely with the Artistic Director and attend weekly meetings in San Francisco.


In addition to general office duties, the role includes:


  • Checking and answering emails and social media inquiries on a daily basis
  • Input numerical and alphabetical information into databases and archives
  • Demonstrate positive and supportive telephone, email and in-person communication
  • Track and maintain email threads and ongoing messages; schedule meetings
  •  Show sensitivity and life experience to different socio-economic and cultural groups
  • Monitor and oversee prospective festival and educational participants materials


    • Update and monitor the project timeline and track deadlines through all phases of production
    • Work with existing administrative tools including Google Drive and Docs
    • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Video editing tools
    • Organize meetings, schedule calendar dates, and track deadlines
  • Find and coordinate volunteers and interns


    • Update listings and current online presence information
    • Facilitate the development of social media, print ads and collateral
  • Implement proper communication to various constituents and distribution of that information


    • A bachelor’s degree 
    • Excellent writing, presentation, research and planning skills
    • Ability to prepare budgets and project timelines
    • Strong Computer Skills
        • Microsoft Office/Google Cloud document sharing suites
        • Adobe, iMovie and Dropbox and other multimedia programs
        • Social Media and willingness to promote the organization on personal accounts
      • Database updating and creations experience including analytical and marketing tools
  • Emails and Phone numbers to 2 Professional References 


Salary commensurate with experience at 15-20 hrs/week @ $20-$22/hr x 3 months. This is a part-time contract job with the potential of an extension.
