In the spirit of the success of the first festival initiated in 2014, the PUSHfest Audience Choice Award was created in 2015 to allow audience members the opportunity to choose one of their favorite PUSHfest Choreographers from each of the 2 programs. All festival choreographers are given the honor of a finalist spot once chosen to perform in the festival. The PACA is a peer review & chosen directly by audience vote. One choreographer from Program A and one choreographer from Program B will receive an award (one award given to one choreographer in each of the programs) and an honorarium.

A $100 honorarium will be given to one choreographer in each of the programs. The PACA will be announced online, through the following media:

  • PUSH Mail
  • Our website, pushdance.org
  • Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  1. Audience members must be present at the time of the performance to vote
  2. Audiences vote via a survey, which must be completed in full to count as a vote

The PUSHfest Awards have allowed for greater community engagements. The spirit of the festival is to combine emerging and mid-career artists in the field of dance. With the sustained achievement recognition, one established choreographer will now be recognized through a special award and performance at the festival.
