Bio

Dazaun Soleyn (he/she/they), with an intention to create art that aims to illuminate the human soul, has presented work in the Bay Area since 2013. He received a BFA in Modern Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of South Florida and continued his dance education at the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program. Dazaun is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, faculty at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, a Gyrotonic Instructor, Reiki Master, and Apprentice Herbalist. His mediums include dance, architecture, sculpture, and interactive installations. dazaunsoleyn.org

About dazaun.dance
dazaun.dance was founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Dazaun Soleyn. Since its inception, the company has produced performances exploring themes of identity, race, and their relation to healing and spiritual connection. Through residencies and collaborations, dazaun.dance has presented at various esteemed venues throughout the Bay Area. In 2018, the company presented its first evening-length work entitled “existence,” which was named the Most Notable Debut of 2018 by the SF Chronicle. Currently, the company is broadening its horizons beyond traditional performance and expanding into a multidisciplinary arts organization enriching the community through dance and architecture.
