Keeping the Dream

Dream Keeper Initiative

PUSH Dance Company is keeping the dream.

We’re proud to participate in the inaugural cohort of Mayor London Breed’s Dream Keeper Initiative. In association with the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, PUSH hopes to provide support to African American communities to tell their own story through the Narrative & Storytelling Shift program.

Our Counterprogams

Our DKI is decolonized, artistic-driven, community-centered and filled with
collaborative events and performances for everyone to enjoy.

Documentation

The African American experience is full of joy as much as it is oppressive structures. We find joy to keep us alive & unified. All of our activities & programs will be fully archived, documented, and broadcast through digital media for future generations.

Celebration

This is a celebration of the African American experience. Our Narrative & Storytelling Shift is also about reframing how our culture & aesthetic is viewed in the public eye.
