The mission of the Sacramento Dance Sampler is to foster community cultural growth by providing a platform to showcase the works of emerging and established professional dance artists with various aesthetic points of view, and to expose audiences to multiple perspectives on the art of dance in our region. Founded by Lorelei Bayne Projects in Sacramento in 2011, this annual event is modeled after the New York City Symphony Space Dance Sampler.
The 2024 Sacramento Dance Sampler will showcase in-person performances on the Sac State campus, in Solano Hall 1010, Dancespace. Performance dates are Saturday, April 20th at 7pm and Sunday, April 21st at 2pm and 7pm. This concert is one of the events for the Sacramento State, College of Arts and Letters, Festival of the Arts (FOTA) week-long celebration of the Arts and Humanities, April 16 through April 21!
