WHO CAN APPLY
Established in 2020, the PUSH for Campaign (P4C) supports dancers, choreographers, teachers, and administrators whose work is based in the exploration and expression of the African diaspora in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This 2nd round centers on the theme of “Reopening” and will be distributing funds to 3 Choreographers at $1000 each and 10 runner-ups at $200 each. Past applicants and honorees are welcome to apply or reapply.
The P4C relief funds have helped further the creation of new work and enabled the livelihoods of prominent to emerging artists to relieve the stresses of COVID-19 and heal from the national reckoning over police brutality.
Honorees of the fund enrich the cultural dance landscape for Bay Area audiences and include individuals and organizations from the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.
Starting July 2021, P4C intends to open up another round of Applications of Interest to those wishing to apply for relief funds. This 2nd round centers on the theme of “Reopening” and will be distributing funds to 3 Choreographers at $1000 each and 20 runners-up at $200 each. Past applicants and honorees are welcome to apply or reapply.
Choreographer is defined in this sense as an individual or organization wishing to use the $1000 relief fund to jumpstart a new work or as nonrestrictive funds.

WHAT TO PREPARE
- URL of your work – All applicants should submit a video link to their most recent work within the last 3 years. The panel will review up to 5-minutes and will take into account 2020 was a pandemic year and applicants may not have work for that year.
- P4C candidates must have a 501c3 or Fiscal Sponsor to apply. If you do not have a fiscal sponsor, please check the “Individual” button and add the comment “Need Fiscal Sponsor” where it says “Fiscal Sponsor’s Name” in the box. If you already have a 501c3, place “N/A” in the Fiscal Sponsor box and move onto Organization Name/Tax ID.
- 300 word bio – Tell us about yourself and describe your artistic history, vision, and practice, as well as major areas of inquiry or process. This section should best reflect and represent the URL link you provided to us earlier.
