PUSH Receives its first Small Arts Grants Program award from Fleishhacker Foundation

PUSH Dance Company has received a Small Arts Grants Program award to fund its festival, educational programs, and the creation of its new home base in San Francisco.

“It gives us a lot of hope to start rebuilding our community efforts as COVID continues to be part of our lives,” says Raissa Simpson, “Small grants like these are the bedrock of our growth as an organization. We have a ‘start small, get bigger’ mentality that has served us well over the years.”

The historic award will be devoted purely to programs that benefit Black, Indigenous and people of color cultural expression. Programs like the festival and outreach programs have been put on hold until PUSH can decide a plausible solution to safety and gathering in the pandemic. The organization is also venturing into opening its first space at 447 Minna.

Making a donation is a way of reaching out a helping hand. By providing even a small donation, you can be part of an effort to provide mental and physical health towards our most vulnerable artists and communities.
